Professors Howard Forman, Doug Kysar, Song Ma, and Jacob Thomas are the winners of this year’s MBA for Executives Teaching Awards, selected in a vote by the EMBA Class of 2025.

Thomas, the Williams Brothers Professor of Accounting and Finance, was honored for his teaching of the integrated core curriculum and advanced management courses offered to EMBA students.

“I really enjoy teaching our EMBA crew,” said Thomas, who was actively involved in crafting SOM’s distinctive core curriculum. “It's wonderful hearing from them, both while they are here and later, about how our class discussions helped them at work.”

Ma, a professor of finance and entrepreneurship, won the asset management focus area award.

“I’m deeply honored to receive this recognition,” Ma said. “Teaching this extraordinary class has been one of my most rewarding experiences as a teacher. I enjoyed every single minute we spent together discussing valuation, term sheets, and cap tables for entrepreneurial finance. It was a privilege to be part of their journey at Yale.”

The healthcare focus area teaching award was given to Forman, who is a professor of diagnostic radiology, economics, and public health; a professor in the practice of management; director of Yale’s MD/MBA program; and director of the EMBA healthcare curriculum. Forman previously won the award in 2017 and 2023.

“It is an honor and a privilege to teach this talented cohort of student-leaders,” Forman said. “I am grateful to receive this award and to know that I have played some small part in their journey at SOM.”

Kysar, the Joseph M. Field ’55 Professor of Law, won the sustainability focus area award for the eighth time.

“If you want to understand why higher education is vital to any country’s greatness, there is no better place to look than the EMBA program,” Kysar said. “Extraordinary people from all backgrounds come together at significant personal sacrifice to learn, grow, and advance together. It is enormously inspiring to be part of their journey.”
